Madisyn & Jack's Wedding at Maidenwood Weddings & Events in Stockholm, WI

This blog post took me a while to jump in and write. Why? I just didn't know where to start. I could talk about this amazing couple and their beautiful story, I could talk about the stunning venue and all the perfectly thought out details...but it just isn't possible to talk about one without discussing the other. So I'll do my best not to make this an overly-long blog post!
Madisyn and Jack booked me after I ran a special for clients booking with Maidenwood Weddings + Events in Stockholm, Wisconsin. They were wonderful from the start. And I got to know them a little more at their complimentary engagement session, where their sweet boy, River, joined us for photos.
Even more special, this sweet couple included their beautiful firstborn son, who they lost far too soon. He was honored in their photos in the sweet little details such as Madisyn's necklace, and his clay handprint.
In every detail they honored him and others they've loved and lost along the way. You can see here from their wedding that Madisyn wrapped her necklace around her flowers and had Ben by her side the whole day.
Their venue, Maidenwood Weddings & Events, is absolutely gorgeous. And the owners are so awesome! Bonus, the owner is also a DJ, so your DJ search is over! This whimsical and timeless wedding venue is one of my absolute favorite venues in the Western Wisconsin area. Every detail of this property is simply gorgeous.
I mean, seriously, look at that getting ready space! It's clean, romantic, timeless.
After getting ready, Madisyn went out for a first look with her dad, and opted to keep the first look with the groom genuine and at the altar.
The ceremony felt magical, tucked away in the pines after a moment building walk up the short trail. *Don't worry, they have a golf cart for folks who can't make the walk! It was peaceful and private and the PERFECT place for a wedding ceremony. Madisyn and Jack's vows were deep and emotional, and I'm fairly certain there wasn't a dry eye in sight.
Something I loved about Madisyn and Jack's wedding was the intention. It was intimate, meaningful, and planned around their wants and needs for the day. Their itinerary was low stress, and they opted for only a few photos with their wedding party. When it came to family portraits, this bride and groom decided to skip the posing and long list and opted instead for candid family photos at cocktail hour. I absolutely loved this mindful decision, as it allowed them to remain stress free and able to go enjoy their cocktail hour with family ASAP.
The reception came just in time, as we started to get some rain clouds rolling in. It was cozy and intimate in the reception space, and everyone seemed to be deep in conversation while they enjoyed their drinks.
Madisyn and Jack had an absolutely gorgeous cake, and a stunning donut wall from Sweet Kneads Farmington Bakery for later on in the night. But not before enjoying some mouth watering bbq from This Little Piggy Catering.
It was an absolute joy to photograph this wedding and get to know this couple. And since I've shot this wedding I've photographed a family session for this sweet little family as well. Because when you find a photographer you vibe with, they stick with you for years to come, to be your friend and to cheer you on for every chapter of life.
