Anne and Dan's day was full of personality and intimate details! While I loved the fun and personal touches, like the hand-written letters and a location based table chart, what I really loved was their priorities. Anne and Dan made it crystal clear during our final meeting that they weren't terribly interested in gathering groups for portraits and posing for an hour straight. Their shot list was short. What they really wanted? Genuine moments. Spur of the moment group photos. They wanted to actually enjoy their day, rather than worry about a shot list or tight timeline. And honestly? It couldn't have gone smoother.
I arrived a tad early (after all, early is on time, and on time is late!) and was glad I did, as I was able to get some shots of Anne getting zipped in her dress. We moved on to first looks, first with her dad, then with Dan. Oh, how I love first looks!

We took a few quick group shots and one on one's with the wedding party then had some down time to relax ahead of the ceremony. While you wouldn't think there was much to do or capture during this time, downtime is actually when I find and document some of the sweetest moments! Sweet little moments like grandpa twirling around his granddaughters, or guests arriving early and sneaking in to give the bride a hug, or friends and family just sharing laughs and enjoying their time together.

The ceremony was sweet and meaningful, and they ended it with a receiving line in which the bride and groom excused each row of people, which allowed guests to remain comfortably seated rather than standing in a long line waiting to say their congrats to the bride and groom.
Then it was off to Wild Ridge Golf course in Eau Claire. This venue is gorgeous for any wedding, with it's warm and inviting interior, and stunning views from the balcony. We got there just in time to catch some gorgeous sunset photos on the balcony, and even some guests came out to watch the sky light up.

Anne and Dan had one of the coolest table charts and place cards I've seen to date. With each table marked with a city they've been to together, they wrote personal letters to each guest and marked the envelope with their "destination" (table). It was a fabulous way of making each guest feel welcome and special, and created a fun way to find their spot.

Cocktail hour was packed with fun, food, and drinks. Guests poured in from the church and found their table spots, hopped into some fun photos with the bride and groom, and left their fingerprints on this fun hand-painted tree guestbook.

Dinner was phenomenal (seriously, I don't know what it is about wedding food, but it always hits the spot!) And something I absolutely loved is that Anne and Dan chose pie...yes, pie instead of a classic wedding cake!! LOVE an alternative and fun dessert option from time to time.

The rest of the night seemed to fly by with speeches and dinner happening in what felt like a blink of an eye. Anne and Dan had a gorgeous wedding day, and I am so incredibly happy for these two!
